How to model strategic stock builds in APO SNP

I am using APO SCP V7.0 for a CPG manufacturer.

I need to be able to model 'stock building' for Christmas and Easter.

How can model this using APO SNP?

Hi,

You can use time base maintenance of safety stock using methods MZ, MB or MM in location product master on Lot Size page. This way the control can remain with SNP only. But still the better solution is to forecast in DP, rather than building stock in SNP directly.

Hi,

You also need to use DP to achieve your scenario.

In Demand planning, you use seasonal planning functionality

and maintain the christmas and easter year periods accordingly

so that forecast gets generated in DP which inturn will get

released to SNP

In SNP. you use MTS scenario (make-to-stock) wherein

depending on the forecast released from DP to SNP, SNP

plans the planned independent requirements and converts it

to stocks during those periods
