IDM Landscape

I am trying to find out if it is possible to install IDM on an existing server that is already hosting a Solution Manager installation. Can we install IDM on the same server of does it need to be installed on its own dedicated server?

Any help in this regard will be very much appreciated.

Hi,

there is a document called "SAP NetWeaver IdM Identity Center Installation overview" on SAP marketplace (you need SMP logon). It describes three different landscapes (S - development , M - QA, XL - production). Have a look. It will help you to understand overall architecture of IdM. You can install whole IdM on one whole server for the beginning. Don't forget that you need Netweaver Java stack to deploy UI component and Management console is available for Windows only (other components can be also installed on Unix systems).

If you have a current version (I think 7.0 SP15+), then it is possible to install IDM there.

This might be a good way to start with IDM.

If you have many users, you might want to use an own instance.
