Hi,

Can the storage unit number be configured to accpet external format?

My user wanted to key in the carton number when placing it onto the pallet.

It is meant to keep all slow moving item into a single carton for storage.

Thanks

Bye

The system will except an external number that is not part of a number range. You should not define an external number range.

Ok, will explore as what Abdul Baseer has mentioned.

Which customer exit do you mean? You can assign the number range interval you are already using to another warehouse number or assign a different one. If you want to work with internal and external numbering in the same warehouse number, set the assignment type to 3, as already suggested by Abdul Baseer.

Colin,

Please have a look at OSS note no. 14881: You neither need an external number range nor a user exit.

Best regards,

Christiane

There is already 1 warehouse using the SU managment active with internal number.

If another warehouse with another storage type are to be configured and set with SU active using customer exit, is it possible?

This is possible. Just make sure you configure the Number range assignment as 3 in transaction OMLW.

Then define an external number range in transaction LN08.

If my User wants to do it in a specific format, in which user exit can this be controlled?

Thanks

Try to accomodate the user format in the number range, if you can. Otherwise use the exit EXIT_SAPLLVSK_004 to define your own rule.
