solution manager diagnostics configuration

Hello,

during the solman_setup (which according to what you said should be donefrom the copied client) which is done from client 200 in our case -

(client 2000 was copied from client 000 , users were copied from client

001) in the basic configuration step i am required to give information of

certain users.

on the second phase i am required to give information of my bi configuration.

what exactly should i choose? - is bi installed in a separate client or

not? (i remind you the configuration - client 200 copied from 000 and

users from 001 copied to 200)

what is the abap client? - 001 or 200

Hi Moshe,

we recommend to use the same client for BW and solMan productive usage, because this is easier for the user maintenance. So if you don't have any policies, just use 200 (in SolMan_Setup this is, use the default client).

i'm a bit confused - by default bi is configured in client 001 - whenever i try to goto TA rsa1 in client 200 (copy of 000 and users from 001)

i get the message - you can only work in client 001 - this is the confusion.

i would like to clarify - running solman_setup from client 200

when i come to the phase that i should put in the bi configuration data -what do i have to choose?

is bi installed in a separate client or not?

what is the abap client? - 001 or 200

please advise

Hi Moshe,

this message means that you have already configured the BW system in client 001. This cannot be changed easily anymore, especially if you have already loaded data in the BW system.

So I would propose the following:

- Login to client 200

- Select "Different client" in the BI connection data

- Enter the connection data in for client 001

- Rerun the Automatic Configuration

Hi Michael,

this solution manager EHP1 hasn't been configured with solman_setup yet.

it was upgraded from sp8 - as far as i know the bi has never been configured (maybe i'm wrong)

is there a way to check it?

whenever i goto table RSADMINA the field BWMANDT is directed to 001 - does it mean that bi is configured against client 001?

is it possible to change it?

Hi Moshe,

yes, this is the meaning of this table.

We have not tested this and would also not recommend to change this. Changing this may lead to later problems with your BW system in Solution Manager.
