Can we use MDM 7.1 Web Dynpro UI with MDM 5.5 ?

Dear Experts,

Is there any possibility to use new MDM Web Dynpro UI (which has got released with MDM 7.1 SP04).

with MDM 5.5 SP6 as a backend.

I wonder, if we deploy MDM 5.5 Java API with MDM 7.1 Web Dynpro components,

then it should work with MDM 5.5 setup also!

Any thoughts on this?

Regards,

Shailesh.

Hi Shailesh,

I do not think that this will work. The WD Components are based upon the MDM 7.1 Java APIs. You'll need these APIs to run the Web Dynpros. But you cannot use the 7.1 API to access a 5.5 server. Anyways it's woth upgrading your 5.5 system to 7.1 as 7.1 is quite stable in the meantime and offers much more functions than 5.5.

Best regards

Michael
