Hi,
In one of our system with hostname xxxxxxxxxxx has been modified & new disk is added to this system. In this system we have a ecc6 sap system. The activity was done by our IT team. At this time they change the host name to yyyyyyyyyyyy.
Before this activity i took database backup, usr folder backup, & downloadable Dumps of the system & all the file system.
Now i am going to restore the SAP system to this server again.
My doubts are what are the things i have to change due to this host name change?
Kind Regards,
Jituda
Hi,
If you are going to follow the system copy method then, I think there wont be any impact of the change in host name.
Gud Luck!!!!!

Hi,
If you restore the system using the system copy method, then there is no seperate activity. But if you are restoring the system by filesystem restore metod, then either you need to change the hostname or need to change the config according to the new hostname.

Hi Jituda,
Considering that you will be following the System Copy procedure for restoring the SAP system, I don't think any changes are needed as a result of this host name change of the server.
Let me know the method by which you are planning to restore the SAP system.
