Hi all i am doing a sys copy from PRD to QAS maxdb 7.6.4 build 16 ECC6.0

I run sapinst successfully until i get to the part to restore the DB

After the database is restored and i continue sapinst

When starting sapinst again it fails when trying to load the sys tables

On the step create sys tables i get 24907,ERR_DBAWRONG: wrong SYSDBA

why would this happen

when i log into dbmcli the passwords for superdba are not the same ie dbmcli and sql_connect

why would this happen and how can i rectify without overwriting all user data when changing the superdba password......... been there done that LOL

Thanks in advance

Andre

Hello Andre,

-> Did you create the SAP ticket where this issue was reported?

-> Did you try to load the system tables with SYSDBA user/password of the source database?

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi All

Let my experience be a lesson to others

You have your PRD and QA system

Your QA system has a master password of exampe 111

I have done sys copies from PRD to QA before using the master password 111.

This time i did the sys copy and decide to use a diff master password example 222 BAD IDEA

error after error, eventually i got SAP started after hacking up the system.... SM21 was full of stuff you dont really want to see LOL.

So rather do your sys copies using the same password and the change the passwords for superdba and sqd<sid> and other users after wards.
