Hi,
I'm looking for some direction on best practice for transferring files of data from SAP BI to an external system using FTP via SAP PI.
I guess our BI team could extract the data, write it somewhere on the SAP BI server, and a polling process could send the file using sender and receiver file communication channels to reach the target destination.
If we want to avoid writing the file to the SAP BI server (as this isn't required for any reason and we have PI message monitoring to check previous transfers), what are the options to trigger the send?
Is it recommended to create an outbound ABAP proxy on the BI side that perhaps could be triggered after the data extract and send the data in real time immediately after extraction via a scheduled job?
If so would we put the file of data (plain text for the requirement) into one field in the proxy and map to a file on the receiver side?.
Our BI team are looking into possibilities from their side (infospokes have been mentioned) but we could use some advice.
Thanks,
Alan
yes u should use a sender proxy....
