Dear all,
i'm currently upgrading our HR-System from R/3 Enterprise 4.70 to ERP 6.0 with Enhancement Package 4.
During the upgrade configuration, SAPup wants me to increase the value of parameter MaxSQLLocks from 150000 to 800000.
When i do this, i can't restart the database with the new value and got the error
-24994 Runtime environment error [db_onlien -f]; 4, connection broken server state 4
Changing the value to 600000 and starting the database is possible, but as 800000 is necessary, i can't continue with the upgrade.
Has anyone an idea what to do in this case?
We have MaxDB 7.7.07.14 installed.
Thanks in advance
Klaus Timmer
If I'm not mistaken there already is a OSS call in process.
Could it be that you're still using a 32-bit system and that you've configured a pretty large buffer cache in addition to the large lock list?
If this is the case, then please try to start the database with, let's say 1G for buffer cache and the required amount of locks.
regards,
Lars

After reducing Parameter CacheMemorySize from 308271 to 196600 the upgrade could be continued.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Klaus,
First, it will be helpful to review the KnlMsg & KnlMsgArc database logs.
I recommend to create the SAP ticket to solve this issue, attach the database logs to the message or
open the DB connection via OSS.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
