I can't comment on Vistex "thought leadership" but SAP offers standard functionality with the same functionality as Vistex - and requires no additional license fees (see my blog for more info):

I have the same dilemma. Did you get any information beyond that which is posted in this thread? I feel that the only resources available are those classes and user groups available for sale on www.vistex.com. Do you agree?
