Hi Guys,
I am trying to load a support package in our DEV system. I downloaded the support package and then put it in the /usr/sap/trans directory. Now, I am trying to unpack the package with the CAR -xvf <filename> command and i am getting this error:
can't change date of file
EPS/in/CSN0120061532_0021805.ATT
Not owner
Is this related to permissions on this package. I have already given 775 permissions and I am doing this with the SIDadm user. Where is the problem then?
Thanks
Cyrus
I did it using root user and it worked!

Hi,
This is a CAR file and I tried using SAPCAR to extraxt it
too but same error. I am calling the SAPCAR from the sapmnt directory to extract it.
I dont know where the problem is.

I always use SAPCAR to decompress SAP files
Just copy the CAR file and SAPCAR to a new directory and use SAPCAR -xvf <filename>... if you're logged as <sid>adm you should have enough permissions...
SAPCAR can be found in the kernel directory if you need a copy
Hope this help!
Juan
