Dear all,
Here in a company with batch management, for solvent initially the tanker comes at the gate and sample is taken before GR so that if the sample gets passed GR will be done, for this we have done through
model inspection in which we activated 0101 insp type and as the tanker comes to gate we take an insp lot through QI07
but when we do UD for this system will not allow UD without batch number, we can generate batch number through MSC1N
but when we actually do GR one more internal batch number comes as per clients logic, now how to link these two batches
regards
venkat
Dear Venkat
I think in that case you can wait till GR happens. So once the Batch number is generated you can give the UD for the source inspection lot
What is the challenge you are facing in this scenario

Dear gajesh,
Thanks for your response, here the need is quality person do not want to do GR inspection again after doing model inspection
similarly stores person do not want to do GR unless it is not passed by Quality
The requirement is only one inspection lot for the solvent tanker placed at the gate before doing GR, Quality will take a sample and if it is passed the message will be given to stores personnel to do GR and if it is rejected stores will not do GR itself, and once the sample which was taken at the gate is passed QC do not want to do another inspection .
In the UD system will not allow UD without batch number , in order to do UD if we do a batch through MSC1N , at the time of GR
if the stores person gives same batch number in MIGO there is no problem but some times testing of this sample will take 4 or
5 days so stores person will do many more GR,moreover all the batch numbers gemerated will have sequential internal bumbers so inbetween they cannot copy external number.
How to link the batch number of MSC1N with that of batch number created by MIGO ( as inspection lot contains batch number of MSCN)
Please advice

Can you set this up as an 01 source inspection?
The inspection lot is created when the purchase order is released. The sample comes to the lab, the lab personnel enter in the vendor batch number and does the testing.
If the material passes, then GR is allowed.
If the material fails, the GR is disallowed for that batch.
There are various config settings you can experiment with in config to control how rejections, replacement shipments and batches are handled.

Dear Venkat
I dont think you have a work around here in regard tobatch
But what i can suggest is make use of copy of results from lot to lot in this case. You can clear the 0101 inspection lot with any batch number. The results of source inspection can be copied to the GR inspection lot and based on the results you can give the UD.
While copying you can manualy search for the 0101 inspection lot ( by PO, Vendor, material, batch number) or you can automate this process through BADi or exits
Let me know your feedback

Dear Nehal,
Thanks for the response, here the condition all the incoming materials for which GR will be done is done through customer specific internal batch number in this case how can we give the batch number at the time of model inspection and moreover
client wants the sequential batch numbers
Please advice

In GR you have two option to enter batch number one is vendor batch & second one is our own batch number. In vendor batch field enter vendor batch & in batch field enter earlier created model inspection batch number.
In model inspection create SAP generated std batch number in sequance. It will helps.
Thanks!!!
Dear krishna,
Here the client do not want to do GR unless it is passed by quality, hence we cannot do GR before quality

Dear Gajesh,
Thanks for the immediate response, here the challenge is how does the quality person informs the stores reg the UD of the solvent tanker if we do testing without UD and as per which if they informs stores after result recording and on the basis of which GR is done for several tankers on a day later on the day how Quality person will know the batch number and how he should do UD
Thanks in advance
