Hi Gurus,
What are pre-requisites for the new APO system?
What are the things need to be done from consultant side?
I am planning parallel processing and how to deal with it?
Please let me know what are things i need to consider for the system and if there are any please let me know
Thanks & Regards,
Raj
Hi Raj,
For implementing new APO system, you need to take care of
all configurational settings and technical settings for effective
integration. This will reduce most of your paint
From consultant side, you need to discuss with business team
in understanding the business requirements and configurations
that are required for planning.
For parallel processing, although it is not highly recommendable
you need to monitor after execution of planning runs or any
other jobs failure results in performance issues. Setting up
parallel processing profile is prerequisite wherever required

Raj,
First the APO system must be installed. I cannot comment much on this, as this is typically handled by Basis (and I am pitiful as a Basis person). Following is the link for SAP site where one can download the appropriate docs (you must be a customer). In particular, the Basis person will need the Installation guide.

Once the hardware is up and running, PP/DS functional expert will need to configure. It is best to start with SAP's Best Practices. Following are the four basic Best Practices you will need.

What are the things need to be done from consultant side?
Depends on the role of the consultant, which should be clearly outlined in the terms of the contract. If it is unclear, then follow standard project procedures. Your company should have guidelines. Like all projects, it is important that you fully understand the client's requirements. I generally try to push the users into adopting standard SAP solutions and functionality where possible.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you elaborate?
