Connecting Jira to SAP Solution Manager

Moin moin*,

we are working in a very inhomogeneous, complex system landscape. One of the systems we have to maintain is a SAP system landscape. The global change request management tool is Jira. Now we are advised to implement the SAP Solution Manager as well.

Of course, we don't want to split the change request management, so we have to combine it. Is there a well known interface between Jira and SAP Solution Manager - i.e. like this: Automatical import of Jira-items as SAP SolMan notifications, exporting of status changes back to Jira.

Kind Regards

Ralf

Hi Ralf,

I am working at the SAP Solution Manager development team and we are using the JIRA tool in the moment for our internal Issue Management.

In the SAP Solution Manager we have several tools like Incident Management, Issue Management as well as Change Request Management. The JIRA tool is very interesting for us, but it will not replace the existing functionalities, because we have Top Issues (e.g. big customer problems like a steadily decrease of performance) or Issues (e.g. memory bottleneck at an application server) or Incidents (e.g. Dump in transaction VA01) and of course a complex Change Request Management.

We are using JIRA tool for issues only, because all Incident we have during the tests and so on are covered by CSS functionality. That can be reported b GTP test cases and all is working.

Perhaps we can use some ideas of the JIRA tool for the SAP Solution Manager Issue Management, in particular for configration and customizing.

Best regards,

Veit.
