service level in shipment document

Dear SAP Gurus

In shipment document (VT01N) we will find an option SERVICE LEVEL. what is the purpose of it?? where to configure in SAP 4.7

Hello Gurus

In service level ther are 4 options like LOAD, EXPRESS, GROUPAGE, GENERAL CARGO... if i want to add few more options according to our requirement in this service level were should i configure..

Hi,

Service level comes from the configuration of shipment types. SAP has given these four options and you cannot really configure more. This is used for classification of shipments.

In order to classify, you can use some other field. Goto

SPRO-LE-TRANSPORTATION-BASIC TRANSPORTATION FUNCTIONS-DEFINE SPECIAL PROCESSING INDICATOR.

You can define many values in this field. Infact, you can also use this field in order to determine pricing conditions in shipment cost documents.

thanks a lot Karan... Very helpul solution..... can SUPPL.1/2/3/4 in Additional Data Tab serves the same purpose as that of special processing indicator?????

Hi,

Meaning of service level is Specifies how transportation is to be handled.

Use

The value defined in the shipment type is proposed in the shipment header and can be changed.
