Dear Experts,
I am new to DMS. Can you please tell me what is meant by Markup in DMS.
KR,
Bharath
Hi Bharath,
In documents like Autocad drawings, there will be a need to comment on the drawing itself. So in that case, a particular area in the drawing where some changes need to be done will be highlighted and some comments can be written on the drawing itself. These comments will not change the original draiwng but they will be stored in a different layer.
With this N number of people can comment on the same drawing and all the comments will be stored in a separate layer. So the person who has initiated the drawing can see all the comments and can change the drawing accordingly.
This is also called as redlining. To avail this functionality you should have ECL (engineering Client Viewer) to be installed. It is a free product from SAP. You can download the same from Service market place. www.service.sap.com
While installing make sure that you have installed the latest patch. This ECL works on JAVA platform so you should also check whether you are using the correct version of JAVA. ECL doesnt support all versions of JAVA.
Thanks and Regards
Bhaskar
