Hi,

The object class categorizes Controlling objects according to their business function and enables you to analyze cost flows within Controlling from different business perspectives.

The following object classes are available:

Overhead

Production

Investment

Profitability analysis and sales

While certain object types automatically belong to a particular class (for example, cost centers belong to the "Overhead" class), others need to be explicitly assigned to an object class in their master record (this is the case with internal orders and work breakdown structure elements, for example).

In addition to the functional area, the object class is required to determine or explain certain values in the external accounting components.

You can hide the field in SPRO for Proj Def(OPUJ),WBSE(OPUK) and Network Activities(OPUC)

I mean why even when I set hide, object class field still appears in the project builder (CJ20N) and mandatory?

Mamarara,

That is a standard design. PRPS-SCOPE will always be a mandatory field. If you don´t wish to use it, set a default value in the project profile (OPSA) and then hide it. Otherwise you will have to maintain the value for each new WBS created.

Mamarara,

Please check note 723855 - Makes the object class 'input' field, no matter what customizing settings are.

Note 856827 - Makes the object class 'input' field only if its value is not present in the project profile. Otherwise the field behaves according to the customizing settings.

Note 856827 is a correction of 723855.

Please consider as well Report ZCJSCOPE of Note 101505: it can be used to default object class for all WBS elements.

Hope this helps
