Hello everybody,
is it possible to "ping" a WebService if I only have the URL from my communication channel?
eg.: https://yyy.xx.97.90:zzz/EBPP/ThisWebPServices

Did you try type the web service URL on your browser? what do you get? You must see the wsdl code of web service that you want invoke.
