Testdrive N4S on DEBIAN linux

Hanns and others,

Has anybody had success loading and starting the N4S system on a NON Intel Debian install?

I was able to get a older E 450 4 way 4 GB memory and 200 GB disk for testing.

The Debian OS claims to be 64 BIT

E450Debian:~# uname -a

Linux E450Debian 2.6.26-2-sparc64-smp #1 SMP Thu Nov 5 03:34:29 UTC 2009 sparc64 GNU/Linux

E450Debian:~#

But when n4sadm trys to run R3trans -x I get errors about cannot execute file.

Checked permissions and n4sadm owns it.

So I think it's due to non Intel platform or because SPARC system that really is 32 bit and 64 bit i/o paths.

same images are fine on my 4 core Intel system running opensuse 11.1.

Checking on the SAP LOCALES needed as last thought I had,

Wow - Linux SPARC, it's a LONG time since I've seen that

SPARC is a different processor achitecture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPARC), what you try is as if you'd try to install Windows on that E450.

Simple answer. it won't work. However, SAP runs on SPARC but only Solaris - but there is not testdrive for that platform.
