Expedite orders

Hello All,

I would like to understand the SAP functionality for processing expedite deliveries? Where in SAP order creation, can we mark that certain delivery as expedite.

In a normal scenario, we place order having requested delivery date and confirmed delivery date well in advance (at-least 3-4 days) but sometimes if the customer is lines-down and wants us to expedite the delivery, we end up managing that order outside SAP and process it early! whereas ideally we should be using some sort of identifier in SAP that can then trigger the planning accordingly.

You can use the rush order functionality of SAP or creating the delivery without refrence LO.

One option is you can make use of Delivery Priority which will flow from customer master to sale order and this can be changed in sale order if need be. You can create on your own like "PREMIUM DESPATCH" and assign this in sale order. Just changing this delivery priority will not meet your requirement. For this, you have to apply sale order exit wherein, the coding should be written in such a way that if the delivery priority is changed as said above, then a mail should trigger to all concerned. This way, you can track all happenings in SAP.

On the other hand, as you said everything is out of SAP by way of mail and other way of communications. Finally, only delivery and billing will take place but in this case, there is no traceability.
