Difference between CC and Adapter monitoring

Hi

We can opt for Adapter monitoring and Communication Channel monitoring under Component Monitoring in RWB. Communication Channel is the run time of the Adapter. So my question is why do we need both ? What are the errors that can be seen in Adapter monitoring which would not be visible in Communication Channel monitoring ? Don't they both give the same errors ? Or are there any errors that can be observed only in particular monitoring ?
