Is Client Copy with profile SAP_CUST deletes transactional Data ?

Dear All,

I am in a strange situation and might be I am not aware of this.

We did TDMS data refresh of one of our development client from quality system (only two months of transactional data and all customizing and master data).

Then After sometime, we did a local client copy with SAP_CUST profile from one of our customizing client to the same client which was refreshed with TDMS in development. Then this client copy with SAP_CUST profile deleted all transactional data in target client. As per my knowledge this should not happen, If we are copying customizing only then it should not delete transactional data.

Am I wrong or something wrong happened in the system ?

Client-specific customizing including authorization profile is copied. The application data is deleted, the user data is retained.

The definition states that the application data is deleted.

Then is there any other way when we are copying only customizing then transactional data should not be impacted.

Not really sure if a CC is going to work the way you want specially without touching the data that you created after the TDMS refresh.

Maybe someone else has a better approach...
