NSP License ABAP

Former Member

Dear all,

I have a NW04s ABAP installation on my Laptop. The license expired the other day.

I can not log on to the system, so I'm not able to run /SLICENSE transaction.

Even executing "saplicense -install" in the folder F:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386 returns with an error.

Can anyone help me with that?

Thanks,

Christoph

SAP note #870871 (License key installation) contains the following:

-

As of SAP Web Application Server 7.0 , you can only execute the command 'saplicense -get' at operating system level, all other commands are no longer available.

-

This is the reason for error with 'saplicense -install' and instead SLICENSE needs to be used. Recommended to use the SAP* user as detailed in the note but the DDIC user also doesn't need a valid license to logon with either.

Try to log on as user 'SAP*', default password 'pass', then go to transaction SLICENSE

you can install the license from command prompt.

log on to windows with user id NSPADM

and go to windows->start->run cmd

this would prompt dos window

got to folder

C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\run

and run saplicense -install and follow the onscreen instruction.

I've heard that this trick works.

Change your system date on your PC to a date which falls before the expiration date of your NSP system. I hear that this will allow you to log on to the system. Once there, you can apply your new license, then log out, change your system date back, and go ahead. Give it try.
