Can't export universe; FRS directory corrupted

We're having trouble exporting a universe in our development environment. When we try, it fails with a message something like "FRS: directory does not exist." When we look in the CMC, the File Name is blank.

We happen to know what the path for the universe was (before it went blank). When we look there in the FRS, one of the directories in the path is corrupted: that is, we can't open it, rename it, or delete it.

This universe has been in our environment for some time, a year or more. We're making significant modifications, and the modified version is the one that we want to export. We do have a local copy of the modified universe which is fine.

One possible solution that occurs to us is to rename the universe and export it. However, that will change the CUID of the universe, so any reports that use that universe will no longer work. We'd like to avoid that if at all possible.

Any suggestions on how to export the universe?

Try stop Input and output FRS servers and then try to overwrite the universe with the local copy which you have.

If this doesn't help then try creating new infoobject yes CUID will differ (delete the earlier info object of univers from CMC ). And dont worry about reports those should work as if universe with XYZ CUID is not found then it will search with universe name .

So all your reports should work.

Best Luck.

BTW: can try some third party tools to to recover corrupted FRS.

What we did was to restore the FRS and CMS database to a time before the directory became corrupted. Then we were able to export the universe.
