Extract Attachments from Solution Manager

Hello,

Is there a way to extract attachments (Word Docs, Excel Spreadsheets) in mass from Solution Manager? Another option, are attachments stored on the network drive or as objects in the database? If the network drive then perhaps I can just get the files from there.

We have several hundred attachments in Solution Manager we want to update and then re-upload back to SM. We'd like to extract them all make the updates and eventually re-upload them bacl to SM.

Hi Jerry,

I don't believe there is an exact method to extract only documents but you can do this as a dump in a transport request or as a project migration.

But this will not be useful for you if you want to make changes to the documents and the upload them back into SolMan.

The documents are not stored in a local/network drive but directly in the database (not sure which table) so possibly you could extract this way but I have not seen this.
