BI workbooks protected with password

Former Member

Dear,

I am searching for a way to protect bi workbooks in a productive environment. The system is currently open (and apparently, it will stay like this for a while...)

Is anyone using the 'sap protection' in BEx (Tools/Sap protection) to restrict workbooks with password protection? Is this a good approach?

Any feedback is welcome

Thanks

Hi,

1.first of all Production client should not be open.

2.Why passwords to workbook? End users can restrcited based on thier info areas so that they can view workkbooks they are actually authorised to. I dont think it is good approch.

Best Regards

Currently users are able to change workbooks and save them as "existing workbook" without any problems which should not be allowed. That's why I though by protecting them with password, this should solve the problem.
