Connecting to Access dB

Tried to search but didn't find any details...

There is mention of the IDBC being able to connect to ODBC sources but not sure of the connection string and parameters as they are not in the help.

Another option was the OLE DB UDS which is nto on my download list...

Anyone have any thoughts on how to get a connection going to a MS Access 2003 database?

Thanks

Since you're obviously a glutton for punishment trying to access Access...

...you'll have best luck using the OLEDB UDS. Also, you need to be really careful about locking, since Access isn't truly a multiuser database. Ultimately, you should convince the customer to use SQL Server Express or something similar. Another option for avoiding locking issues is to periodically copy the Access MDB file to a second file, which would be the one you would connect to.

Rick,

I have to saw your answer made me laugh a bit...and yes you are right. But at the moment Access is what customer wants until the transition to Oracle happens.

OLE it is.............!
