Budget Tolerence Limit

Former Member

Dear Experts,

I have come cross the following scenario:

AAA (WBS Element) is the first level WBS element of Project A. The Project has following WBS elements with Budgetary Values:

Level 1 AAA 5,000

Level 2 AAA.1 2,500

Level 2 AAA.2 2,500

Level 3 AAA.2.1 0,000

Further Budget Availability Check has been activated to the Project with an Error Message to be prompt when reaching 100% Budget Tolerance Limit.

When raising a PR against the AAA.2.1 WBS element with a value of 1,000 the system does not prompt an Error Message. The system allows you to raise the PR despite the Tolerance Limit.

Is this the standard behavior? If so whats the rationale? If there is away to stop this?

Very Much Appreciate your guidance.

Regards,

Dileepa.

Hi,

What version of SAP are you working on? Check if the note 955106 has been implemented in your system. Also check the note 955107.

Dileepa,

As well as the modification mentioned in the note, you could also check for excempt cost elements in customizing...however Virendra's reply is absolutly correct: if budget in WBS element is zero, system will consider superior WBS element as controlling object and, therefore check budget against it.

Hope this helps

Martina

since there is no budget distributed to the said WBS it checks the parent - this is std behaviour
