Hi,

To answer your question, more infomration is required. Can you give details of your landscape ? e.g. have you got SAP ABAP systems, and using SAP GUI ? Are you using portal with web browser access ?

Thanks,

Tim

Hi,

Thankyou for this information.

For Active Directory authentication it is not always possible or necessary or secure to use LDAP. Instead, Kerberos can/should be used since Active Directory domain controllers are Kerberos authentication servers.

For Kerberos with SAP GUI -> SAP ABAP, you need an SNC library. If your SAP ABAP AS systems are running on Windows Server you can get this SNC lirbary from SAP or from some SAP partners. if your SAP systems are running on UNIX or Linux then you need to get the library/product from a SAP partner as SAP only provide Windows libraries.

For Web access to SAP (portal on Java stack, or web applications on ABAP stack) you can use SPNEGO, either using the SAP supplied SPNEGO login module or using a solution from a SAP partner (which often has added benefits and features). It is possible to configure Java stack to use LDAP auth via UME configuration (check SAP help library for details, or search this forum) but I think you might benefit from SSO which is best achevied using SPNEGO / Integrated Windows Auth and not using LDAP/UME auth.

Thanks,

Tim
