My setup is WAS 640 ABAP + J2EE add-in. It's running on top of Oracle
9.2.0.4. The ABAP WAS comes up fine and so does the J2EE WAS. I can log
in using the Java GUI and using the Visual Administrator. No problems.
I've followed the steps mentioned in help.sap.com for enabling the webgu
i:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/54/4d9993c6592941a407313a67
63575c/frameset.htm
I can see in transaction SMICM that the ICM status is healthy (green
light). I've enabled bc/icf and bc/its in transaction SICF. I have the
GUILink set to 'Y' for bc/its/webgui.
I know that the http port for my system is 8012.
So I use the URL in the documentation:
http://mire.apple.com:8012/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!
But I get the following error:
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?
URL http://mire.apple.com:8012/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/! call was

So I have followed the instructions in notes 692791 and 698329.
The echo service is working fine. Everything is activated in SICF. GUI
connection is specified with 'Y' in the webgui settings. I have also
used a Windows GUI to Test Service in IE. The browser pops up, asks for
a UID/password which I provide (sap*) and then it shows a blank screen.
In this system log I see this message:
HTTP/RFC session has been deleted following timeout
Seems to indicate that a connection/sessionis being made, then
eventually timing out.
Any ideas? Maybe the URL is not quite right?
Anyone else have the webgui working in WAS 640 ABAP?
Many thanks,
Jake
Hello Jake,
Please see note 698329 for troubleshooting advice. From your description though I would advise checking the profile parameters:
icm/host_name_full
icm/server_port_0
to make sure you have the correct HTTP port and host name.

Jake,
Which basis support package you are on on your ABAP server?
Did you publish Internet services webgui and system both to site INTERNAL in SE80?

Antje
