Hi Exports,
we have our SAP HA ECC6.0(ABAP only) running on windows 2008 cluster. What is the normal procedure to update SAP kernel? Especially how to update binaries of C:\Windows\SapCluster ?
thanks a lot.
Rongfeng
Hi,
All you need to do for a kernel upgrade in your scenario is :
1) Stop all Application servers.
2) Stop SAP on CI host.
3) Take backup of your current kernel directory.
4) Place the new kernel in your kernel directory and uncar the same. Keep in mind to use the latest SAPCAR for uncarring your new kernel.
5) Check the output of disp+work as <sid>adm user. It should be at the latest patch level.
6) Ensure that you have a copy of the new kernel at /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<sysnr>/exe as well.
7) Start SAP on your CI host.
😎 Start SAP on the remaining Application servers.

Hi Rongfeng,
The correct procedure would be stopping the system and then replacing the kernel files on:
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64
