Can somebody point me in the right direction, our company is looking at implementing Demand Planning and Forecasting

1) Can this be done in an ECC 6.0 system

2) Do we needs a seperate SCM system

Any DOC you can point me too would be highly appreciated.

Generally:

If you want to optimize planning above plant level (i.e. cross plany planning), map complex supply chain processes in the system, you need SAP APO, ECC6.0 is not enough.

ECC6.0 has some solution for multi plant planning but these solutions have their limits. Mulit plant/site planning in ECC6.0

SAP APO

So, if the company (group?) you are speaking about has several companies, plants and you want to solve / manage / optimize cross-palnt planning, planning above plant level, you have to use SAP APO (or another similar external application).

But if your company has two or three pants, then it's very likely ECC6.0 is suffiecient.

Of course, you know what are your exact requirements / what is your situation...

Yes you can do demand planning and Forecasting in R/3 and ECC but for APO you would have to integrate SCM and ECC.
