CCM2.0 CAT Views don't work

Former Member

Hi,

We have one procurement catalogue with 2 views. One view allow the "user A" to see the whole catalog and the other view allow the "user B" to see just a part of the items.

The view was created successfully. And we assigned it to the "User B".

We are able to access via CSE to the catalog and depending on if we log on with the "User A" we see the whole catalog and if we log on with the "User B" we see just part of the items (according to the view rules).

In the SPRO, in the "Define External Web Services" we have defined 2 Catalogs (A and B), so depending on the user, when they log in the SRM Shopping Tool, they see just the link of the "Catalog A" or the "Catalog B".

The Problem is when the User click on "Catalog A" link in SRM Shopping Tool can see the WHOLE catalog. And when another user click on the "Catalog B" link can also see the WHOLE catalog (when in theory it should see just part of it).

What are we doing wrong? Why can we see the correct view via CSE but not via SRM?

PLEASE HELP US!!!

THANKS!!!!

Hi Patricia

As far as I know, you can't specify different catalog call structures in "define external web services" giving them different catalog views. It won't work as you already found out.

Instead, you have to create new roles in CCM having the right catalog views assigned to it. You then again assign the role (in CCM) to - in your case - user B.

You do this in transaction PFCG. I recommend you to copy /CCM/CATALOG_SEARCH and then to go to the personalization tab (look out for a personalization object key called /CCM/VIEW_ASSIGNMENTS). There you can assign the catalog view(s) to your role.

The user will see the catalog content depending on the role you assign to the user! You don't have to specify different catalog call structures in "define external web services" for that and it is also not related to roles you might have specified in ROLE attribue PPOMA_BBP to achieve this.

Hope this helps...

Thanks Renaud!

I think you have give us the key to solve it. We have request the tranport of the role in order to test it in the test sytem and hopefully this will work.

Thanks again for your help!!!!!!!

Best regards!!
