Hi experts

i met an message box show that "make sure DDIC is exists or the password is correct" when i was intalling nw2004s at step of checking DDIC password.

our database is oracle, i have checked that DDIC is exists in SAPSR3.USR02 table .and make sure the instance are running.

Then i logon to system client 000 form Gui using user SAP* ,changed the password of the DDIC to '19920706'. however ,when i tried to logon to system ,it just throw an error 'DB-ERROR -0'

i retried installation many times, even stop the installation and then restart it.unfortuately, the message box above is still there

so now ,what should i do to go on my installation.

p.s. our server is windows2003 64bit using oracle 10

Hi,

What is your kernel level.

Try to update it latest level and restart installation from the phase where it stopped.

We faced the same error and after updating kernel problem was solved.

Hi,

To find kernel level go to sap menu-. system -> status -> click on other kernel info

You will find kernel level.

You can also find kernel inof by typing disp+work in command prompt.

You can download latest kernel from SAP service market place.

Use link [https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/swdc]

Hi,

Change the password of DDIC in the system and set the password to master password which you have given at time of installation.

Then retry. It will work.

Thanks

Hi,

Just make sure you have same password for user DDIC in client '000" and "001".

(It should same as you provided in installation as a master password)

Mainly check in "001",

You should be able to log in to client '001' with user DDIC and password same as in "000"

If if not you can make client copy of "000" to "001"...(SAP_CUST) (Usermaster - 000)

Then retry installation...

it will work.

Hi Rajesh

it is the same to get a db error when trying to logon to client 001 using DDIC with master password.

so maybe there is no use to tring to change password of DDIC from frond end?
