VC Newbie - Cannot make system connection

Hello,

Our VC is all setup and configured. When I create my first data model and try to test the R3 BAPI, I get the message 'Native Connection to backend system is broken' . I have read on SDN that my user ID should be mapped to the system. This requires me to set the system as 'UIDPW' in User Management even though user IDs match between portal and backend and I am using logon ticket.

Now when I try the test, I get another error message 'Check your system definition and user privileges'.

Can anyone help here.

Regards

Mr.T

Hi,

If you are using SAP logon ticket then your userid should have proper access to R3 RFC/BAPI using in the VC.

Also please test connection for created system in the system landscape.

Thanks

Hi

Please verify whether you have all necessary administrator rights of 'VC' (Enterprise Portal). Also you should have all the rights for the R3 BAPI. (The user id from R3 side which you are mapping with your portal ID should have these rights for BAPI). Also check the validity of the userID. If you are accessing the VC model through 'EP iView' then check the permissions for the user ID.

Hi Mr. T,

please check the [VC WIKI|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/Connectivity] and my weblog [How-to create a portal system for using it in Visual Composer|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/6068] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];. You also should have read rights (check the authorization of the system object.

Best Regards,

Marcel
