Project System WIP

The WIP calculation is performed and settled every week for all projects. one particular project is having Negative balance and when we try to close it says its balance is not zero and WIP in Financial Accounting is still to be cleared.

We have tried to Reverse all the Settlement and done RA and try to Settle the Project again but the Balance of the Project 8588.72- has not changed and we were not able to close the project.

Can you please provide your opinion on the same

Some suggestons would be to

1) Check document number which is settling the amount or figure to FI and trace back to COntrolling or project

2) Figure out the period when the postings were made the year and period

3) Its necessary to know the type of result analysis you are using ,Assuming its cost based RA check the plan and actual cost for the WBS element

4) It could be that the plan cost was changed on the project ie reduced after the result anlaysis was done for the week in your case

also check if there are different currencies involved - this could lead to variations

Teco Status has be set. but still the project is not able to be closed .

Before you close the project, set TECO status, then run RA, it will cancel the WIP..after that d settlement and then close the project.
