Hello Pumacheder,
While applying support packages in your system you can refer below steps to avoid unnecessary long run import.
- Kernel upgrade to with latest R3trans/tp executables
- DB statistics run before import
- upgrading SPAm/SAINT to latest version
- monitoring SP import status via SAP tcodes --> SM66, SM37 with job status ,
- At OS level you need to check memory untlization in progress by proccess ids like tp etc. You can verify status of SAP standered imports by checking /usr/sap/trans/tmp ,SLOG and ALOG files
- Also verify if you have sufficient space left in /usr/sap directory while imports
I am not sure whether this option prompts in SPAM but while applying addon you can change options of imports to :
Conventional Import Mode
Import mode downtime-minimized

Hello Purna, Have you upgraded your system with latest kernel(Disp+work, R3trans) and also applied the latest SPAM/SAINT version like 700/36 before applying the support packs ?
Make sure while applying support packs DB back-up is not running as it may slow down the patch application.
If you could check the slog & alog files and send us the details it would help in further analysis.
