Hi Guys,
Idoc ORDRES05 is extended as a ZORDERS05 in ECC.
How we populate data in ZORDERS05 segement fields?
How we check where the program or exit is written?
I am able to see ZORDERS05 fields in IDX2 xi.
But i am unable to see those fields in Imported objects in Integation Repository design level?
If i want to see those fileds in xi what should i do?
How we upload the metadata and how we upload the idoc data from ecc to xi?
What is metadata?
Please help me.
Kind regards,
Padma.

Check out these blogs. It explains everything about idoc extension.

Check WE60 at R/3 if idoc has been released after making changes. If not released, go to WE30 at R/3 and release the IDOC.

Delete the old IDoc metadata in IDX2. Delete and import the IDoc again in the Integration Repository.
For more details, refer to http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d19fe210-0d01-0010-4094-a6fba344e... .

Basically once the extension of idoc(read addition of extended fields) is done it needs to be released in ECC. Thereafter it is visible to you for import in PI.
Thereafter you import the extended idoc(here ZORDER05.ORDERS05) to PI Integration repository and you can see the new fields..
Have you done these steps? Check if the extended IDoc is released in ECC system from where you are importing.

Hey
Keeping it brief. Also can't answer the whole of it as don't have any access right now.
1) Meta data is data about data. However for you situation in simpler term the actual structure of the IDOC.
2) Reimport it from ECC and this time import the extended version you should start seeing the new fields
3) One need to write abap routines to fill new structures. Reading your message doesn't tell me if the enhancement was done fully or just only structural.
4) choose your namespace click on imported objects then right click and select new
it will come up with name password and some system details (related to the ECC) after that choose IDOC (two options it shows you IDOC or RFC). Then scroll down the long list for your required one.
regards
