Hello,

I am unable to open the URL -

http://<FQDN>:8000/

It gives error - URL call was terminated because service is not available.

In SMICM, the service name HTTP and port-8000 are correctly maintained.

I activated the HTTP service as well.

Also, the parameter - icm/server_port_0 is also correct maintained -

icm/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=8000,EXTBIND=1,TIMEOUT=900

Kindly help..

Hi Gautam

I would start with a basic telnet <server> 8000 , just to check if the there is a listener on that port.

Try it localy on the server [telnet localhost 8000] and if it succeeds - try it remotely from a different server.

If it fails - this definitely means that no process is listening on this port.

If it succeeds - maybe it's a different application and not the NetWeaver.

You can also check it using the commiand "netstat -ab" (Windows) or lsof -i 8000 (HP-UX).

There was no Redirect URL defined for that service

Hi,

Do you realise that there is usually no service associated to the root URL on an ABAP SMICM server ?

If you have not defined a default service, the error message is perfectly normal !

Olivier

Gautam,

Do you have firewall between your work station and server? Does firewall allows 8000 port access to this server?

Try from server itself to access http://<hostname>:8000

Thanks,

Digesh

The server is AIX. How do I check the URL on it?

If firewall is not issue.

okay check if port is not reserved in /etc/services file for any thing else.

I see that in /etc/services port 8000 is assigned to something else.

But lsof -i doesn't enlist port 8000 in use.

So, shouldn't I be able to use port 8000 for SAP http? since currently it is not used by the application that it is assigned to in /etc/services.

do you have this FQDN in /etc/hosts and also do you have parameter icm/host_name_full set?

I think something is wrong with the ICM HTTP protocol itself.

WHen I try -

Goto--> HTTP Log >Server/Client> Display Entires

It gives message - Unable to read HTTP Access Protocol

Should I restart the ICM?

using Administration> ICM> Restart-->Yes
