Hi ALL,
Whenever i take an archive of an MDM rep and then unarchive it again on the same rep.
It gives me a msg saying the Rep already exist do you want to overwrite on saying , yes.
It is complete ,however I am not able to connect to that rep any more with the same user name and pwd ,
infact all users IDs get blocked.
I am not sure if this is the std behaviour of the tool or I am not following the right steps.
I do not want the rep name to change only the data and schema updated .
Thanks
AJ
This is a bug in older versions of MDM - there is an OSS note about it which you can read. Check message 1361987.

Hello AJ,
When you unarchive a repository and overwrite an old repository, you actually delete the old one and replace it with the new one. This results with the old repository users being overwritten with the new repository users.
You have some way to overcome this issue:
1. Use trnsport schema which will leave the old data as it is and then re-import with new data.
2. Use LDAP directory for users managment which will remove the necessety to manage the users in MDM.
Hope this information helps,
Idan

Hello AJ
You are got the same problem
i suppose it wrong work unarchive function in SAP MDM
You should do next steps:
1)Archive repository
2) delete current repository(but save it's name and port number)
3) unarchive repository with saved name and set saved port number for it
4) run repository and work
