Client deletion taking long time....

Hi All,

I have been going through tough times in SAP ECC right now.

I am doing a client deletion using SCC5. Total entries in tables were 58514.

It was going fine till it reached 58504. From then onwards, the tables SAP is deleting are having crores of entries, which is why it is taking time.

My question here is, Is their any way by which we can delete the entries fast?

Like from Database level. Database iam having is Oracle. Can we run any sql delete command to delete entries from backend while SAP client deletion is in progress.

Its been 3 days since i have started client deletion and it is very frustrating now.

Could anyone of you please help me with this?

Hi,

Don't delete any table form OS level. Let it run. Just check in logs there should not be any error.

What is the size of the client ?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for replying soon.

i have already started deleting entries from backend...

size of client would be around 300 GB.

There are tables with 5 crore entries as well.

Hi Vikram,

Have you checked SAP Note 365304 - CC-ADMIN: Reports for deleting tables ?

Cheers...,

Hi,

If the size if the client is 300 GB it is normal that it takes a lot of time.

You just have to be patient.

>There are tables with 5 crore entries as well.

What do you mean ? crore is not in my English dictionnary...

Hi, you can do the following:

1.- In SE38 go to RSCCEXPT

2.- In RSCCEXPT check the option "Large Block"

3.- Save changes

4.- Restart client deletion

No Vikram,

There is no such method in sap to avoid this situation....only suggetion is be patient.

You can directly kill the process but very harmfull, not recommended by SAP and may face crirical issues.

Hi,

If there are tables which contains lots of data entry, please search for the sap note on service market place. You have to create that programme as per SAP note and you have to run that programme into the system. I faced same similar problem earlier. Please search for the note on service market place with sap client delete.

Thanks & Regards,

Charanjit.

Hi,

Thank u all for helping me out....

Well i am done with Client deletion....I deleted the entries from SQL level.

My client deletion is completed but with dictionary errors.

There are around 3-4 tables in which maximum of 100 entries are still remaining.

Now my doubt is whether i should go ahead with client copy or not?

If yes, please assist me with steps before starting copy, so that it doesnot take much time similar to client deletion (6 days)..

Regards,

Vikram
