Hello,
I have MDM 7.1 (MDS+ MDIS) installed on SP1.
What do I need to do to patch to SP3.
I have the feeling I need to download the SP3 stack and than patch to SP3 via SAPINST -> update.
I just found the note 1356950 describing how to patch from SP2 to SP3. Can I use the same procedure to go directly from SP1 to SP3 ?
Thanks
Hi Jean-Luc,
yes, you can follow the instructions of the upgrade note to upgrade directly from SP1 to SP3. There's no need to upgrade to SP2, first. Btw: MDM 7.1 SP4 will most probably be released in the beginning of february.
To do the upgrade in general:
- first backup your existing repositories (just to be on the save side)
- run the servers upgrade with sapinst
- upgrade your clients (Console, and so on) and/or advice all users to do the same with their local installations
- check your repositories after the upgrade: perform an "update repository" in MDM Console (if neccessary) as well as a "Verify Check" to ensure the correctness of the repository schema.
Best regards
Michael

Hi,
Yes, you can run the SP03 server installable. But sometimes the GUI components also need to be installed.
After installation, update the reposiotry.
