BPMon Issue

Former Member

Hi all,

We are using BPMon to monitor many processes across different systems/landscapes. However, during setup of various monitors, we have an issue depending on which monitoring system we choose.

An example would be if we wanted to perform Table Analysis. For one system, if we put in the table name in the detailed information field, we can then use the selection parameters button on the remaining fields to bring back from the monitored system the list of valid entries for that table in that system. So that works fine.

E.G. If we specified table T000, on the remaining field names below we can use the selection button to see the valid fieldnames in this table T000, such as CCNOCLIIND, CHANGEDATE, etc.

However, the issue is that if we try to do the same monitor on another system, it does not bring back the list of valid entries for the table specified. For some reason, the RFC call is not working between SMP and this other system, even though the logical components and RFC users appear to be identically setup when comparing the system which works to the system which doesn't. The RFC Connection appears to be fine, as the monitors will actually run fine between SMP and this system, but it just doesn't seem to work when we want to validate fields.

Apologies if I am not describing the issue clearly - any help very much appreciated!

Thanks,

John

Hi JD

Sounds like RFC connection seems to have some problem.

Would you check following point for problem system.

1.RFC Connection that is used for BPMon setup defined properly.

RFC connection called "RFC for Solution Manager " that you can see from SMSY is setup.

2.If RFC for Solution Manager is setup correctly, please check RFC definition.

Especially Logon&Security tab of RFC definition.

If trusted system is used, please check your user id exist in satellite system. And also your user id has role

" SAP_S_RFCACL". This role is required to enable trusted system connection.

If trusted system is not used, and some user is assigned, please check this user is valid in satellite system.

You can test whether the user is valid or not from test function.

(SM59->related RFC connection->From the menu Utility ->test ->Authorization test)

If authorization test also works, please check the user is dialog user or not. Since the operation is dialog operation,

the user has to be dialog user.

If no user is assigned, and it is blank, please check "logon screen" option is flagged or not.

Best Regards

Hi Keiji,

thanks very much for your help - the issue does appear to be missing authorisation to RFC Trusted access.

John
