Managed System Configuration - PI7.1 system solman_setup

HI all,

In trying to execute the step "Managed System Configuration" for a PI7.1 system in Solution Manager SOLMAN_SETUP, in the first step to "maintain the connection", its failing immediately with:

Error when opening an RFC connection

Establish connection to System <hostname>(01) - <SID>_001

Any ideas?

Is the solution manager able to resolve the name of the machine?

HI Markus,

/usr/sbin/ping hostname.xxx.xxx.xxx.com from solution manager works fine. Anything else I should try at the OS level to try and dtermine of the hostname is resolved? We have other systems like PI DEV and QAS that are fine communicatiing from Solution manager running the configuration template.

OK - the SMSY server definition was incorrect so fixed that and the name is resolved now and am able to move forward. Thanks for the question....

i face the same problem.

i check the following and they are all fine.

- ping to PI from solman

- PI IP address in SMSY

Could you tell me which part you configured in SMSY?
