Reuse Number Range SD after archiving document

Hi,

we have archiving documents SD of the past years. Is possible reuse the range of documents considering that the range is almost finished?

Thanks.

Hi Charly,

I think the answer to your question is "yes" from a Technical point of view, but "not recommended" from a Business point of view.

¿Did you evaluate changing to a new number range within the (unique) 10 digits SD number range instead of "reusing" numbers of already archived documents?

Yes

Once you archive the document, then you can use that document number ranges again.

Hi Kapil,

bui if reuse the document number ranges in ERP, the document in ODS of BW what it contains all the documents and therefore also those archived in ERP, will be rewrite from the last documents created. SAP BW doesn't foresee in key of the ODS the date to distinguish these documents.

Hi Kapil,

One question on this.

If we use the number range once again which is used for archived doc., then what will happen when we unarchive the doc. ?

Because we will already have used the number range for new doc.

regards,

Sagar
