Hi All
We have to shift one of our ECC6.0 instance running on Solaris server with Oracle database to a Windows Server with Oracle database itself. Can anyone pls tell me the steps and also how to perform the database migration. Will simple backup and restore work??

No.
Solaris/SPARC is a BigEndian platform, Windows on Intel (or AMD) is LittleEndian. Your migration must be done using R3load. Keep in mind that you must have a certified migration consultant on-site for that project, otherwise you'll loose support for problems during the migration and for the target system (see the FAQ on /osdbmigration).

Hi,
since you are changing your operating system then you have to perform heterogeneous system copy. Check system copy guides on http://service.sap.com/instguides and http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration.
