Hi,
We have created an OLAP Universe based on BEX Query. The BEX Query is a general query that has all the fields in the infocube.
The infocube has 10 dimensions. We are trying to create a WEBI report with only few characteristics(from only two dimensions) and few key figures.
But when we try to run the WEBI report, it is taking a lot of time. When we traced the SQL, the SQL contains all the characteristics from all the dimensions and
going through all the dimensions. I am new to this BO world. Please advise whether I am doing anything wrong in creating the WEBI report. How to force the MDX statement to select only the characteristics mentioned in the report. Please advise. Thanks.
Thanks.
Raj.
Hi,
I assume that you want to say XML traces rather than SQL traces.
We provide SQL for relational databases and SAP BW Infocubes/DSO through Data Federator.
The MDX generated contains only the characteristics and key figures selected in the Query Panel.
However, there were an issue where all key figures were taken into account by SAP BW server even if not all have been selected.
This issue has been fixed in a fix pack (I don't remember which one).
Regards
Didier
