Carry forward budget makes current budget zero in the previous year

I recently did a Budget Carry Forward (CJCO) as part of year end closing and observed that it carried forward full amount in Current Budget in 2009 and made it "zero".

I do not believe that is correct.Why should the Current Budget amount become "Zero" in 2009 ?

It then also changed my 2009 Released Budget to "Zero" too.That is understandable because it derives the budget from Current.

I welcome any response.Thanks for any help.

and why not? Budget carry forward will transport the available remaining budget to the next exercise. No budget remains in 2009 as part was assigned and part was carried forward. I guess it is correct to have a current budget amount of 0 as, actually, there is no current budget at all in 2009.
