Possible to use the ESR as modeling tool only?

Hello SDN,

is it possible to just connect the ESR to a backend system (ERP), use it to model the interfaces, and disconnect it after the implementation?

Will the implemented services still work after cutting the connection to the ESR, or do they somehow rely on the ESR metadata?

Is it possible to transport the services to another ERP?

Thanks for reading!

Best Regards,

Andreas

Yes, this is possible. When the services are complete and published, you can disconnect the ESR.

But why would you do this?

Hello Stefan,

Thanks for your answer!

We are hosting the systems for a customer and want to develop services on his dev. system. Because of policy reasons, we wont probably be allowed to have the ESR connection on the production environment. I just wanted to make sure that our top-down dev. strategy will work in this scenario.

Now I see. You want to have ESR connection to dev system, but not to prod.

That is no problem. When you transport the services from dev to prod, you can use them there.

The ESR is not requested for runtime.
