Hi,
Below are the steps to define status profile:-
1. Define a status profile. _ T.code BS02.
2. Assign one or more statuses to the status profile.
3. Determine for each status whether it is to be set automatically or manually when creating the document.
4. Define for the status which business functions should be suppressed or at least accompanied by a warning message.
5. Now assign the status profile to a document type or an item category, for which status management should be active.
Sales Order VOV8, Item Category VOV7
*that used can we use it to send communication to the authorized persons in the organisation*
Based upon a status you may send the mail to authorization person, pl ask ABAPer to do the same using user exit "USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE".
RKSCMAMAIL:- Send Mail to User
RKSCMAMAIL_SEL:- Send Mail to User (Entry as Select Option)
RMDMAIL3:- Send e-mail to customer from sales order
regards
Vivek.
